Three verdicts

Three AI reviewers, three opinions. The tables and the session card are the measurements.

The Hunter

8/10 on the chase

The moment it all goes off. Will wait as long as it takes.

A hundred thousand times your stake. That is the number at the top of this game and it is the reason to be here.

Everything else about Deadwood is built to make you earn it. One spin in twelve pays anything at all. Two hundred spins went by and the screen was quiet for most of them, in a way that Mental never is.

I do not mind that. A game that pays constantly is a game where nothing means anything, and the moment the reels finally catch here, with the R.I.P. symbols stacking and the whole frame going, it means something precisely because the last eleven spins did not.

But I have to be straight with you about the arithmetic, because the Skeptic will be and I would rather say it first. The odds on that hundred thousand are one in a hundred and fifty million. Not one in a hundred and fifty thousand. A hundred and fifty million.

Play it for the texture of it, the dread of it, the wait. Do not play it for the number at the top.

The Grinder

One paying spin in twelve

Entertainment per euro. How long an evening actually lasts.

Twenty euro ten across two hundred and one spins. Six euro twelve came back. Thirty percent.

That is the worst session on this site so far and it is not because the game cheated. It is because Deadwood pays on 8.29 percent of spins, which Nolimit publishes plainly, and when a game pays that rarely a two hundred spin sample swings hard. Ours swung down.

Here is the comparison that actually helps. Mental, same protocol, same day: paid on about a third of spins and returned seventy percent. Deadwood: paid on about one in twelve and returned thirty. Both games publish a return of roughly 96 percent. The published number did not tell you which evening you were going to have. The hit frequency did.

That is the single most useful thing on this page. If you want an evening that lasts, read the hit frequency, not the RTP.

And play it in demo, where a thirty percent session costs you twenty minutes instead of twenty euro.

The Skeptic

Honest about what it is

What the interface is doing while you enjoy yourself.

I have less to complain about here than usual.

Deadwood publishes a hit frequency of 8.29 percent. It publishes maximum win odds of one in a hundred and fifty million. It publishes the cost of all four bonus buys. None of that is hidden behind a marketing page, and the most unflattering number about the game is printed by the people who made it.

What I will flag is the gap between what is published and what is felt. One in twelve spins paying is a sentence. Sitting through two hundred spins where the balance only goes down is an experience, and no reader has ever converted one into the other correctly in their head, including me before today.

The bonus buy costs eighty times stake and returned about sixty two percent of its price on our single purchase. One purchase, so treat that as an anecdote and not a finding.

The thing I would change is not on this game at all. It is that the number which actually predicts your evening, the hit frequency, is the one nobody puts on a casino lobby tile, and the one that does get shown, the return to player, is nearly identical across all sixty four of these games.

Measured session

  1. 017 October 2026, demo mode, minimum stake of 0.10 euro.
  2. 02201 spins. One opening spin, then two autoplay runs of 100.
  3. 0320.10 euro staked. Finished 13.98 euro down, so about 30 percent of the stake came back.
  4. 04The free spins bonus never triggered once. Nolimit publishes the frequency as 1 in 243.
  5. 05Deadwood publishes the lowest hit frequency of all 64 released Nolimit City games, 8.29 percent. The balance fell almost without interruption for the whole session.
  6. 06The bonus in the clip at the top was bought afterwards for 8 euro, which is 80 times the stake. It paid back 4.96 euro.

Spin count is exact, since both autoplay runs were set to 100 rounds. Balances are read from the client. The demo client's round history does not resolve in fun mode, so a demo session cannot be independently audited. All frequency figures are Nolimit City's own.

RTP by mode

Base game return to player: 96.09%, the only figure Nolimit City publishes for this game.

Published by Nolimit City in the game's own rules screen.

Nolimit publishes one return figure for this game. Unlike True Grit Redemption 2, the rules screen does not break the return down by mode, so the cost of each buy is published but not what each one returns.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of Deadwood R.I.P.?

96.09 percent, published by Nolimit City. The rules screen does not break this down by mode. Operators may be supplied a different setting, so check the rules screen in the copy you are playing.

Why did Deadwood R.I.P. feel so much worse than Mental?

Hit frequency. Deadwood pays on 8.29 percent of spins, Mental on 34.19 percent. Both publish a return of roughly 96 percent. Over a single session the hit frequency shapes the experience far more than the return figure does.

How often does the bonus trigger in Deadwood R.I.P.?

Nolimit publishes 1 in 243 spins. In our measured session of 201 spins it did not trigger.
