Odds

What is Odds?

Odds represent the ratio between the stake and potential payout, reflecting the implied probability of an outcome occurring. They can be expressed in decimal (2.50), fractional (3/2), or American (+150) formats depending on regional conventions.

Why it matters

Understanding odds formats and how to calculate implied probabilities is fundamental to informed betting. Comparing odds across operators helps identify better value.

Example

Decimal odds of 2.50 mean a €10 stake returns €25 (€15 profit). The implied probability is 1/2.50 = 40%. Fractional equivalent is 3/2; American equivalent is +150.
