ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution)

What is ADR?

ADR, or alternative dispute resolution, is an independent body that rules on a player complaint after the operator complaint process is finished.

Why it matters

ADR is the free escalation route in most regulated markets. It sits between the operator and the regulator and is where most player disputes are actually decided.

Example

A player files a complaint with the operator, waits the stated response period, then submits the same complaint with reference numbers and screenshots to the operator named ADR provider. The provider reviews both sides and issues a decision.

Common misunderstandings

  • ADR is not the regulator. Regulators supervise licences and rarely rule on individual money claims, while the ADR provider decides the specific dispute.

Frequently asked questions

Does ADR cost the player anything?

In the markets covered here the player does not pay to use the operator named ADR service.

Do I have to complain to the operator first?

Yes. ADR providers require the operator complaint process to be completed or the stated response deadline to have passed.
